ILANCA Certification

ILANCA certification is an award given by the Association to help raise the standards of the LAN center industry as a whole. Certification is fairly simple, and is renewed on a yearly basis. Being certified is completely voluntary, and does not impact the benefits ILANCA members receive. Each certified LAN center is also given a rating, similar to the hotel and restaurant industries.

Certification is completed by filling out a few forms and submitting photographs of the LAN center location. Once certified the business will receive a "ILANCA Certified" icon on the global LAN center map, and a window sticker you may place in your business. Certification is good for one year. A LAN center may request to be re-certified at any point, and is subject to applicable fees.

The list of criteria is currently somewhat limited, due to our currently limited funds and personnel. Eventually the certification process will expand to include other categories such as Customer Service, which can only be judged by having a qualified representative visit the location.

The criteria in each category are given a point value, and the total point value for each category is averaged, which results in the final rating given to the LAN center. The criteria are purposely design to encompass an idealized LAN center. It is designed so that it is very rare that any LAN center achieves a perfect rating.
